All are of interest to lovers of food, tea, and gardening. ( I admit I have a selfish reason for these categories, as they are loves of mine and I am always looking for new reads—a good little mystery now and then wouldn’t be bad either!)

Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
An absolutely delightful read! This heartfelt novel is full of mystical garden plants, enjoyable offbeat characters and small town life.
Sisters grew up in this small town, in the shade of an enchanted apple tree, (which is a main character in the novel), one got out of town at the first chance, the other stayed and is the town caterer using interesting herbs & plants from the garden. Things really get interesting when sister returns with young daughter and moves in. This book captivates with its magical charms and garden spells – hard to put down.
A perfect read for a tea break – you can really lose yourself in this novel!

Emma Lea’s First Tea Party by Babette Donaldson
This book was so much fun to read with my daughter –the illustrations were also delightful. It’s all about little girls, little girl dreams & family, growing up and a special first tea party with Grammy and one special gift which leads right into the 2nd Emma Lea book
( I’ve already purchased this for a good Holiday read for my daughter!) I can’t wait to get started!
Celia in K.C.
Hi, Karen in Philly here again! I just read Sarah Addison Allen’s
new book, “The Sugar Queen”! It was just as captivating as
“Garden Spells”.
I can’t wait for another one! Again, a little
wonderful magic and make-believe, a fun make-over and a
bit of romance.
Check this one out for a fun, gentle, thoroughly
enjoyable read – relax with your tea and scone and lose
yourself in Josie’s story!
